The first weekend in June started better than expected! The Melbourne International 3DE offered good weather, great going and a great result for Sarah Ingham’s ‘Watermark Grayson’ taking out 2nd place in the CCI*** . Stuart was also extremely pleased with ‘Orchard Hill’ in his first CCI**. Gwen, Stuarts mum, has recently bought a share in ‘Orchard’. With both horses taking 3rd after their dressage. Orchard then unfortunately had a glance off an apex... but went onto one of only two clear showjumping rounds to finish 13th.

Nature Vet sponsored ‘The Melbourne 3DE Professional Grooms Award’ and to our great pleasure Amy won. We were very excited that Amy has been recognised for her efforts with us and our horses. Amy has been our Head Girl, PA and great friend for 7 years. Well done Amy it was so well deserved.

The Melbourne weekend came not only with success but with some great sadness. Stephanie Bender, our long time worker and dedicated student, lost her mare 'Gypsy Princess' (Georgia),
In brief Georgia developed colic the night after her PB dressage test. The mare could not be saved after she was operated on that next day to find that most of her large intestine had died due to an embolism in one of the main arteries that passes round the gut. There was nothing anyone can do. Stephanie and Georgia have been with us for 7 years and we are all devastated, but not as much as Stephanie who has only one horse now to campaign. We all wish her well and hope she recovers soon from her loss.

GYPSY PRINCESS (Georgia) Melbourne 3de Dressage.
Stephanie was also short listed for The Palmer Higgs ‘Marketing Development Award’ it was very close and Steph almost made runner up. Well done that Steph made it that far the competition was very tough! Maybe next year! Brett Davey was the winner.
Just before Melbourne 3DE Karen took Jaymee off the Coonabarabran Horse Expo where she represented her school ‘Galston High’ Jaymee had a great run over the 4 days with ‘Fonsie’, with a 3rd in Eventing, 5th Showjumping, 6th 6 Bar Showjumping, 5th Girl Rider, and 2nd Teams of 4. With over 650 High School students and their mounts it was busy, fun and very competitive! Jaymee just had the best time with her team mates, Gemma will join her next year when she joins High School. Thanks to the Anderson family who always make me feel so welcome and keep me organized!

The HSBC World Cup was in early May at SIEC, it was certainly world standard. The Xcountry was big and technical and the showjumping 1.30m. Vettori placed 3rd and was one of 2 only clear showjumping rounds.

We are pleased to announce that Vettori remains on the Australian Elite list and Panamera the Australian A Squad for 2009.
